Cancellation

Please let me know as soon as possible if you cannot make an appointment. If you need to reschedule an appointment, I ask that you give at least 72 hours’ notice. If you cancel within less than 72 hours, you will still be charged. This is because I may not be able to fill the space at short notice and will still incur costs both financially and in my time. Non-attendees will not be offered a refund.

I do understand that sometimes cancellation is unavoidable, so in exceptional circumstances, I may use my discretion and offer a full refund or alternative appointment.

If I am unable to attend a session for unforeseen reasons such as illness; an emergency, unexpected closure of venue or technical problems (when working online) a full refund will be offered or you can choose to rearrange at your convenience.

Technical Difficulties (online sessions)

If we have an online session booked and you are experiencing technical difficulties which are out of my control (for example you have a poor wifi connection or a dead phone battery) which cannot be resolved, you may still be charged for the session. If, however, the problem is at my end, I will offer you a choice between a full refund or an alternative appointment.

I reserve the right to cancel the session with immediate effect as a result of any disrespectful or abusive behaviour for which no refund will be given.

If I suspect that during a session, you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, I will terminate the session with immediate effect and no refund will be given.

Lateness

Please allow plenty of time to arrive for your session. Although lateness is sometimes unavoidable due to unforeseen circumstances, sessions need an appropriate amount of time in order to carry out treatment fully and to achieve the required state of relaxation.

It may not always be possible to go ahead if you are late and you will still be charged for the session. If you are running late, please inform me as soon as possible so we can decide the best course of action. If you are too late for the session to go ahead, this will count as non-attendance and no refund will be given.

Confidentiality Policy

Any information you share with me will be kept in the strictest confidence. However I may be bound to inform the appropriate authorities if you disclose information in relation to the safeguarding of children, terrorism, people or drug trafficking or money laundering. In addition, If you disclosed you were planning to harm yourself or others, I would be duty-bound to inform the relvevant bodies.

All therapists are required to have supervision. This involves discussing cases and treatment plans with another qualified hypnotherapist. All such cases are fully anonymized and only discussed within the confines of that meeting.

GDPR Policy (data protection)

This policy relates to how I collect and store your data and is written in accordance with Government Guidelines on GDPR. In this instance data may be taken to mean: Names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, session notes, assessment results, referral letters, and anything else that identifies or relates to a client.

Only necessary data will be collected.
Electronic data such as email is password protected and encrypted.
Data such as initial consultation forms and session notes will be stored manually in a secure locked cabinet on private premises. I am the only person with access. After each session, I will only record details necessary for your treatment plan and notes will only relate to how you responded to treatment (in order to help me personalise treatment to you).
In accordance with National Hypnotherapy Guidelines, notes will be kept for seven years, after which they will be securely destroyed.
Your data will never be shared with another party for any reason including marketing purposes.
You have the right to access your data. (Please put your request in writing via email and I will respond withing 28 days.)
Sessions will not be recorded, unless (with your consent) I have offered to record the hypnosis session for you to use at home. I will not share this session with anyone but you and will destroy the recording after 28 days.
If there was to be a data breach, I will inform you as soon as possible. If it poses a risk to you as an individual, I am also obliged to report it to the ICO within 72 hours.
